Although I have no pictures to share, this story is definitely one I want to remember.
First of all, we are officially done with pacifiers at our house. After a week of prepping Colin by telling him he was a big boy and didn't need it anymore, last Saturday night we put him to bed without it.
He did relatively well, and has done pretty well since then, except it takes Colin a lot longer to fall asleep for his naps.
One day last week he was acting pretty tired, so I laid him down in his crib, closed the door, and went to my room across the hall, leaving my door open just a crack. I was checking my email or doing something else on my ipad when a few minutes later I hear a door open. Then a second later Colin pushed my bedroom door open and saunters on in with a big smile on his face. I laughed so hard!
He had climbed/fallen out of his crib and opened his door just because he didn't want to take his nap. He did a similar trick the next time I laid him down, but that falling part (along with one trip to time out) seems to have cured him of wanting to escape his crib since then.
But just to be on the safe side, we should probably get him a toddler bed pretty soon :)

Dress Up (Week 26/52)
As seen here, Colin is wearing two swimming suits. This boy loves to get dressed. He rarely is successful at getting any clothes on without some help, but it's pretty cute to watch him lay on the floor and wiggle around trying to get his legs into a pair of shorts.
Folding laundry is an especially difficult task around our house these days because as I separate Colin's laundry into piles, he wants to put it all on...at the same time. I indulged him one day and put a few layers on him (why didn't I take THAT picture??). And the swimming suit picture above was also taken on laundry day.
Looks like we might need some dress ups at my house soon!
4th of July (Week 25/52)
This is our second 4th of July living in a house and owning property. So even though Matt and I have been married for almost 5 years, it wasn't until very recently that I discovered he is just like any other boy--a huge pyro.
Colin thought all of the festivities were very fun. He wanted to be right in the action, which of course meant we had to watch him every second.
His favorite fireworks were those little popper things where you pull the string and confetti shoots out. But when we ran out of those, he was happy to give sparklers a try. What a good daddy he has helping him out.
We had friends and family over for a cookout and homemade ice cream, and then Matt and his friend, Tate, put on a huge fireworks display. The grand finale was actually pretty grand!

Now that I know that Matt is capable of such good pyrotechnics, I can't wait to see the show next year. And you are all invited!
Phoenix Fun (Week 24/52)
A few weeks ago we (as in me, Colin, AND Matt) all got to go to Phoenix to visit the Justmans and Nortons.
Party time!
Colin loved spending time with his cousins. Here we have Charlotte, Elaine, and Colin at a park. Those two girls just loved having Colin around. In the words of their mother, "That kid can't help how lovable he is!" :)
We also planned the trip well because we were there for Julia's 1st birthday! Emily made delicious cookies and cream cupcakes, and I think Julia thought they were a big hit. I didn't get a picture of how messy she was by the end, only these few beginning shots. She's a cutie.
We all met up at Chick-fil-A for lunch that Monday for one last playtime. What a cute bunch of cousins!
It was one fun trip, and we can't wait to go back!

And although this has nothing to do with Colin, no trip to the west would be complete without a meal (or 2) at In-N-Out. We happened to eat there two days in a row, per Matt's request. Yum!
It was one fun trip, and we can't wait to go back!
