1/2 Ton, Baby!

This is it. Our new truck, a '95 GMC 1/2 ton Sierra 1500 . Matt's truck. I'm not sure that I'll be driving it that often.

We bought a '99 Ford Taurus on Craigslist about a year ago for super cheap because he had to replace the head gasket. It was a good little car. Unfortunately, he was driving to work a few weeks ago when one of his co-workers slid through a stop sign about a block from their work and t-boned him on the passenger side. It was not too big of a deal, no one was hurt, but it left a huge dent on the side of the Taurus. Totaled! We had every intention of going back to being a one-car family, but then Matt found the listing for the aforementioned truck in the KSL classifieds. He was pretty excited.

The problem was his co-worker's insurance company. It's called Kemper Insurancer or something. And they were ridiculous to work with. It was one problem after another until they told us they would overnight the check on a Friday. That meant we should have gotten it Monday, right? Tuesday morning Matt calls to say we hadn't gotten it. The woman looks. Oh, she had messed something up and it hadn't even been sent out. He calls again on Wednesday to find out who will deliver it and if there's a tracking number. The woman has absolutely no idea. We finally got the check on Thursday.

Long story short, Matt got the truck of his dreams, and I'm just happy we didn't have to go back to sharing a car : )

Congratulations! That's a good looking truck. Of course, now you'll have to help us whenever we move!

If I were you, I would be more concerned about all your friends and neighbors asking for your help when they move.

For the record, I hate dealing with insurance. It doesn't matter who it is, it always seems to be a problem. But Kemper seems even more unprofessional than some. What kind of crazy outfit are they?

But in the end, nice truck!

Wow...snazy truck! I'm glad everything worked out and Matt got his truck after all the hassle. We look forward on coming up again in a few weeks and hanging out at the wedding.

Jessica!! How are you? I am glad that Matt is fine--it's always scary getting in an accident! Sad day that the beautiful turtle is no longer with you, but that truck looks amazing!! Carson and I sure miss getting together with you guys! We miss you!!
